In order that the Solar PV installations delivered by the company meet client expectations and remain functional for many years to come.

Taking care of your property

When planning and installing a Solar PV installation, the adoption of the correct fixing methods is a vital part of the installation. Always quiz your prospective installer on what their proposed method of fixing the PV Panels is going to be? Edward Dewhurst Ltd does not recommend or use the single bolt method of fixing, where the actual roof tile / slates are drilled. We consider this method to be inferior, as we think it will lead to roof leakage in future years. Edward Dewhurst Ltd employ the method of removing the tile / slate, fixing independent timber battens between the main roof spars then fixing the PV array frame support brackets directly to these. After fitting the array support brackets the tile / slate is replaced after being suitably notched out to accommodate the support bracket. Following this lead flashing is neatly fitted over the support bracket to give a good standard of weathering that will remain intact into future years.

Edward Dewhurst Ltd has an excellent Health & Safety Record with all operatives involved in the installation of Solar PV systems having received specialist training in the erection of scaffolds and “Working at Height”.
